President Trump Suspends Trade Talks with Canada

"Today’s developments highlight the real economic and political risks created by the Digital Services Tax.  AmCham Canada has long expressed concern on the DST and since his arrival in Canada U.S. Ambassador Hoekstra has made it clear that implementation of the DST would be viewed as a provocation by the U.S. Administration. Businesses on both sides of the border need stability, not uncertainty. We continue to urge the new Government of Canada to cancel the DST announced by the former government and continue the positive work toward a security and economic framework that protects jobs, investment, and the integrity of the Canada–U.S. trading relationship.”
