AmCham Canada Convenes Global Life Sciences Leaders with Canada’s Ambassador to the United States

Sep 17, 2026

AmCham Canada recently convened senior global pharmaceutical executives for a discussion with Mark Wiseman, Canada’s Ambassador to the United States, focused on the future of life sciences investment, innovation and growth in Canada. The discussion brought together global business leaders from leading U.S.-based pharmaceutical companies to share their perspectives on Canada’s competitiveness and the factors influencing global decisions on investment, research, clinical trials and innovation. Participants welcomed the work of the federal Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences Sector Task Force and discussed the opportunity to build on its recommendations to strengthen patient access to innovative medicines while enhancing Canada’s attractiveness as a destination for life sciences investment. The conversation also highlighted Canada’s significant strengths — including its scientific talent, research institutions and clinical trial capabilities — and the importance of a predictable and competitive policy environment in attracting future investment.

AmCham Canada appreciates Ambassador Wiseman and the Embassy team for the opportunity to engage directly with global business leaders and looks forward to continued dialogue on strengthening Canada’s competitiveness and the integrated Canada–U.S. life sciences ecosystem.
