AmCham Canada U.S. Thanksgiving Celebration

The 2023 AmCham U.S. Thanksgiving Celebration is being held on November 16th at the Arcadian Court, Toronto. This annual tradition is the highlight of our calendar. This event allows our members and others in the cross-border community to come together to celebrate and reflect on the year with good friends and close business colleagues. Ambassador David Cohen is scheduled to speak at the dinner and present the 2023 AmCham Canada Social Impact Award. In addition, there will be a fireside chat with Max Rangel, CEO of Spin Master, moderated by former national news anchor Amanda Blitz, to share a true Canadian cross-border success story.

David L. Cohen

United States Ambassador to Canada

Before his appointment by President Biden and unanimous confirmation by the U.S. Senate as U.S. Ambassador to Canada, David L. Cohen served as Senior Advisor to the CEO at Comcast Corporation as of January 1, 2020.  He was previously Senior Executive Vice President at Comcast, where his portfolio included corporate communications, legal affairs, government and regulatory affairs, public affairs, corporate administration, corporate real estate and security, and community impact.  Cohen also served as the company’s first chief diversity officer.

Max Rangel

Director, Global President & CEO – Spin Master Corp.

Max Rangel was appointed Global President of Spin Master in January 2021 and became Global President & CEO in April 2021. He is responsible for the execution of the Company’s long-term strategy and leading day-to-day operations. Max is a results-driven global C-Suite executive with 30 years in CPG with P&G, Hershey and SC Johnson & Sons. Max’s career has spanned operating roles in North America, Latin America, Asia, Middle East and Europe, as well as global strategic roles in the headquarters for all three companies.

Director of Marketing – Thomson Rogers

Amanda Blitz is a former national news anchor for CTV News Channel and was a reporter at various media outlets. She is also a lawyer having practiced finance law in London, England, at Clifford Chance and corporate law at a law firm in Toronto. She is currently the Director of Marketing at Thomson Rogers, and prior to that she was the in-house lawyer and Director or Marketing & Communications for a non-profit. Amanda graduated with honors for her M.Sc from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism and received her LL.B. at Osgoode Hall Law School.
