Capri Silvestri Cafaro

Capri is the executive producer, host and creator of America the Bountiful, a James Beard Award and Emmy Award-nominated original food & travel series on PBS exploring the regional food traditions of America’s heartland. Capri’s long-standing appreciation for Canadian culture has led her to expand her media production work to Canada under the banner of Bountiful Media North America. In her role as Managing Director of Bountiful Media North America, Capri is developing video content for a variety of Canadian outlets including Harrowsmith Magazine and Edible Ottawa Magazine.  Her newest digital series, Postcards Across Canada, follows the successful storytelling model of America The Bountiful, celebrating the Canadian cultural mosaic using food as a guide. 

For the last five years, Capri has been a regular guest on CTV’s The Social. Capri also appears  on SiriusXM Canada Talks Channel 167 and now hosts More Than Maple, a podcast on Canadian food and culture. In her previous career in government, Capri served on the US-Canadian Relations Committee for the Council of State Governments and appeared regularly on CBC News Power and Politics to speak on U.S. current events.

Capri earned an undergraduate degree in American Studies at age 19 from Stanford University, a Master’s degree from Georgetown University with a concentration in International Studies, along with a Master’s in Social Work from The Ohio State University. Capri and her dog Marshmallow have a home base in Toronto’s King West neighbourhood and stateside in Northeast Ohio. In her spare time, Capri enjoys cooking, crafting and taking road trips with her dog to discover pet-friendly destinations.
