Tom Creary

Tom Creary is a senior executive and consultant with broad experience in management and business development as well as government affairs. He currently advises American and European companies on developing their businesses in Canada and Canadian companies on developing their businesses in the United States. His most recent work in public/government  affairs was with Hill+Knowlton Strategies as Vice-President and Group Leader, Public Affairs, in the firm’s Ottawa office. Prior to his work before that with the Government of Canada as Chief of Staff for the Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, he spent a number of years taking Canadian businesses in the business intelligence and web-based sectors into U.S. corporate markets. He has advised companies on business development in new markets, focusing primarily on technology, software, media, web and business to business applications companies.

Experienced in building, motivating and managing teams of highly talented people. Earlier in his career, he managed development projects in Africa and Asia, ran business development for a petrochemical company and co-founded and helped build one of Canada’s leading government relations consulting firms. In the late 1980’s, served as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Industry and President of the Treasury Board of the Government of Canada. He founded the Quebec Chapter of the American Chamber of Commerce in Canada, is a dual citizen of the United States and Canada, a native of the State of Kansas, and equally competent in both French and English. Tom is a frequent commentator in Canada on U.S. political affairs.
