Originally from the US, Melissa grew up in Dover, Delaware. She is a graduate of the University of Delaware and Boston University School of Law, is a member of the New York bar and admitted to the Barreau du Québec as a foreign legal consultant. A seasoned attorney, Melissa has experience in the fields of US and international tax and estate planning, US immigration, and litigation.

Melissa began her career at a large law firm in New York, before moving to Quebec in 2010. After learning French and becoming familiar with the Quebec culture and business community, she began practicing US & cross border tax planning for businesses, high net worth individuals, trusts and estates. A senior manager at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton, Melissa is based in Montreal but serves clients from across Canada, the US, and abroad.

Melissa is often sought out for her expertise in cross border tax planning by law firms, accountants, financial institutions, and wealth managers to provide tax planning and advice to their clients, who normally consist of entrepreneurs, executives, and their family members. Fully bilingual, she is often invited to speak at conferences, as she has prized expertise in cross-border tax planning for private clients. She is a regular speaker at Association de planification fiscale et financière (APFF) conferences and lunchtime lecture series. Melissa has also previously taught US Tax for the Masters of Tax program at the Université de Sherbrooke. She is also often invited to write articles on cross border tax topics.

Outside of the office, Melissa is a regular guest at cultural and business events in Montreal. Additionally, she is an avid athlete and has been competing in triathlons since 2017, including two Ironman 70.3 events.
