Rick Tachuk

Rick is the President of Electric Strategies, Inc., an Ottawa-based communications and public affairs agency specializing in cross-border marketing and business development.  He is also a founder of Expocorp Exhibitions, Inc., a full service trade show and event management company.  Previously, Rick served as Executive Vice President and a Director of DCI-enable, a publicly traded Canadian multinational e-business solutions firm.

Before entering the private sector, Rick was the United States International Trade Administration’s Senior Commercial Specialist in Canada responsible for export promotion activities.  He was also employed as an International Marketing Specialist with the Government of Canada’s Bureau of Management Consulting and a Research Associate in the International Business Research Centre of the Conference Board of Canada.   Rick is a founding Board Member of the Ottawa Software Cluster and has served on several boards of Canadian start-ups.  He holds a Masters degree in International Management from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University and a Bachelors degree in Business Administration (Marketing) and Economics from Bishop’s University.  He has authored numerous articles on international trade and related business issues in publications in both Canada and the United States.
