Anna Barrera

Director, Public Affairs, UPS Canada

Born and raised in Mexico City, Anna has developed an in-depth understanding of the importance of trade, supply chains and economic issues through her previous experiences. Anna has held several consulting, research and policy positions with organizations, including IQOM Commercial Intelligence in Mexico City, Environment Canada, and the Canadian Agri-Food Trade Alliance and Dawson Strategic.

Between 2017 and 2021 she was the Senior Manager of Economics, Transportation and Trade Policy at the Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC), where she researched and provided analysis on antidumping and countervailing duties, rail modernization, free trade agreements, and tax reform.

For the last two years, as the director of Public Affairs for UPS Canada, Anna has worked federal and provincial issues including the impacts of COVID-19 on the supply chain, trade issues, and transportation and infrastructure, and sustainability matters.

Anna has a bachelor’s degree in International Business from the Tecnologico de Monterrey and a Master's Degree in International Trade from the University of Saskatchewan. In 2022 she completed her Certification of Association Executive (CAE). Anna is a champion for mental health and diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
