On September 29 Tom Mudry, Chapter Chair for American Chamber of Commerce in Canada (West) (AMCHAM), officially welcomed Tom Palaia, the new US Consul General to Alberta, Saskatchewan and NWT to his post at the US Consulate in Calgary.
Over 50 AMCHAM members and guests had the opportunity to meet Consul General Palaia and the new Principal Commercial Officer Tom Hanson. Both men bring a wide experience in both diplomacy and trade development.
“We look forward to working with both men as they settle into their new roles,” said Bryant Andrus, AMCHAM West Vice-Chair. ‘Calgary is the largest American city outside of the United States and is always open to new people bringing new ideas and initiatives.”
Both Consul General Palaia and Mr. Hanson stayed late into the evening discussing cross border issues with AMCHAM Executive and members alike.
The evening was hosted by longtime AMCHAM West member Theatre Calgary.
