The American Chamber of Commerce in Canada leads delegation to Portland on the new CAT ferry service.
 
Business and community leaders will join the Atlantic Chapter of The American Chamber of Commerce in Canada (AmCham Canada) on the 2016 season’s first voyage of the CAT ferry service across the Gulf of Maine to properly recognize this renewed connection between Canada and the United States.  AmCham’s delegation will be lead by Mrs. R. Irene d’Entremont, C.M., D. Comm. h.c., Vice Chair, Atlantic Chapter and National Director, The American Chamber of Commerce in Canada.  AmCham Atlantic is very honoured to have Mr. Steven Giegerich, U.S. Consul General to Atlantic Canada, join us on this cross-border program.

In addition to Mr. Giegerich, AmCham Atlantic’s delegation will include the Mayor of Yarmouth, business leaders from the tourism, legal, accounting, engineering, energy, artistic and seafood sectors from Nova Scotia and Newfoundland & Labrador.  “We are pleased and excited to facilitate this dynamic cross-border event and to be partnering with the City of Portland and its business community,” says David Gough, Chair of the AmCham Atlantic Chapter.  “Interacting with the American business community to foster bi-lateral trade and positive relationships is our mandate.  Helping build relationships and improve connections between Maine and Nova Scotia continues to build on our cross-border program activities.”

The AmCham Atlantic delegation sails from Yarmouth on June 15 and returns on the 16 after participating in the invited Nova Scotia – City of Portland Roundtable at Portland City Hall, followed by a welcoming reception.  The business roundtable will discuss mutual trade and tourism matters and will continue to foster excellent cross-border business relationships.

Focused on being the voice of Canadian - American cross-border business, with its prime mandates of facilitating trade activities and strengthening business relationships, the Atlantic Chapter of The American Chamber of Commerce in Canada is pleased to be participating in this business partnership voyage between Yarmouth, NS and Portland, Maine, recognizing the inaugural sailing of the new CAT ferry service.
